 Control Panel Components & Functions
The Canon iR 2006N has a touch-panel display plus physical keys around it that let you control copying, printing, scanning and settings.
Touch DisplayCentral screen shows the Home menu with available operations (copy, scan, secure print, etc.).
You can touch icons on the screen to select functions, change settings, and see status messages.
Here are the common buttons you’ll find:
Home – Returns to the main start screen.
Paper Settings – Choose paper source (drawer or bypass) and set paper size/type.
Status Monitor – Shows current jobs, errors, remaining paper, toner level, etc.
Reset – Clears current settings back to defaults.
ID Card Copy – Quickly copies both sides of an ID card onto one page.
Back – Goes back to the previous screen without saving changes.
Numeric Keys (0-9) – Enter numbers for copy counts, fax/scanning settings, PINs.
# Key & Special Text Key – Enter symbols or switch text input type.
Energy Saver – Puts the machine into sleep mode to save power.
Counter Check – Shows total pages printed/copied and machine serial number.
Stop – Cancels current copy/scan.
Start – Begins copying or scanning.
Clear – Clears numbers or text you entered.
Log In/Out – For systems using ID management, this logs users in/out.
Error/Processing Indicators – Lights show machine status, job progress, errors, etc.
The Home screen is the main hub — from here you can choose Copy, Scan or other tasks.
Many functions can also be set through on-screen menus on the display (e.g., preferences, network settings).
If the machine is in sleep or displays errors, light indicators around the panel will show status and alerts.
Would you like a picture diagram of the control panel buttons and screen layout? (That can make it easier to identify each key visually.)
